The director of the Ain Sebaâ Rehabilitation and Education Center in Casablanca emphasized during a ceremony marking the seventeenth anniversary of the establishment of the General Delegation for the Management of Prisons and Reintegration that this occasion serves as a moment to evaluate achievements and strengthen the reform approach within the prison environment.

The director explained that the delegation continued last year to implement its strategy aimed at enhancing the performance of prison institutions by improving detention conditions, expanding rehabilitation programs, and increasing staff efficiency, highlighting the vital role prison employees play in maintaining security and preparing inmates for reintegration.

He noted that the delegation intensified its efforts in the field of digitization, launching a digital platform for family visits with support from the Ministry of Digital Transition and the Digital Development Agency, which helped streamline procedures and improve service quality for visitors.

The director also highlighted recent legislative reforms, including the issuance of the decree concerning the special status for prison administration staff, in addition to laws related to the organization and management of prison institutions and alternative penalties, affirming that these texts represent a strong boost to the modernization of the sector and enhance governance.

In closing, he commended the efforts of all components of the prison sector, confirming that the delegation will continue to operate in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to protect the dignity of prisoners and ensure the security of prison institutions and the effectiveness of reintegration programs.
